McCarthy Huge Loss

Ferry Rangers travelled to Broadford for a top of the table clash in the league. Ferry with a strong panel started against the strong breeze. We had 3 good shots on target from distance but it was Broadford that scored first, when Paddy Moriarty was heading the ball out of his own box only for the ball to hit James Wren's hand. Penalty given, Andrew Flavin got a hand to it but could not prevent the goal. With 17 mins left in the first half disaster struck, Liam McCarthy Ferry star midfielder recieved a serious injury. He had to be taken to hospital waiting an operation. Liam is probably one the of the best midfield players around with his skill of passing and getting by players. Never in trouble with the officals as his game is totally around football. Our thoughts are with Liam and wishing him a fast recovery back on his feet. I would like to thank the Ambulance people, doctors and nurses at the Regional Hospital in Limerick. I would also like to thank the Broadford supporters who helped us with Liam.
