Seniors win at the Vales.
Ferry travelled to Athea's home ground in the "Vales" on Sunday.
A win was important for Ferry to move them higher up the table.
Weather and pitch conditions perfect for football.
Ferry still without a few players through injury and work committments, had a good squad for the day.
Ferry started like greyhounds out of traps, taking over the game and putting fierce pressure on the Athea defence.
Flavin in midfield was towering over his oppostion winning every header and giving great ball to the wingers.
It was Ger O'Sullivan that was on a goal spree for the day, the first came when he rounded the keeper and scored from a very tight angle.
His second came from a free kick that was driven to the top corner of the net that keeper got a hand to put could not stop it.
His third came in the second half when he beat the off side trap and cooly stroked home for his hat trick.
Athea on the day could not not get past the Ferry defence and when they did they came across the Ferry Keeper Michael Carrig in fine form.
Ferry could have scored mored even O'Sullivan could have another brace or even Shane Enright who had went very close on several occassions.
But a win is good to come away with from Athea.
