U12 League
We travelled to Adare last Saturday in hope of getting a point. But our lads really turned on the style. We started well when Micheal Heaphy had scored within 5 mins.But Adare came back and equalised within 2mins. Ferry opened the opposition defence twice before half time through Conor Breen and Mark Cregan to leave the score 3-1 to FERRY. Adare put great pressure on us but Jamie Diggins made some fine saves. Heaphy again got through the opposition defence with great passing to score. Now at 4-1 we looked comportable but Adare had not finished yet. They came back to score twice, now the game at 4-3, the pressure was on. Our defence working very hard. But then Adare got a penalty, but Diggins came to the rescue with a magnificent save. With two minutes left Ferry cleared a long ball , Cathal Brosnan collected and went on a Ryan Giggs run and brilliantly slid the ball passed the on coming keeper. What a win for the lads and some great goals. Well done to all the lads. The team : J.Diggins , L.Henderson , M.Finucane , C.Ahern , E.Cregan , C.Breen , M.Heaphy , M.Cregan , C.Brosnan.
And just to confirm Ferry only played with 9 players. What a display of committment and courage and team play. Team of the week.
