Senior's Promoted

Ferry going into this game needed a point to be sure of promotion. We had been so close before but failed at the last hurdle.

Ferry started the brighter attacking from the start forcing a corner after 10 mins. The corner taken by Garry Allen was flicked on by Kevin Enright to the back post where Ian Flavin slotted home. This settled Ferry and it wasn't long after that they scored again from a corner. This time the corner was taken by Noel Kelly which found its way to the net.

Start of second half Athea came out at us with great determination. They put together a great move that brought them back within goal. The pressure was now on the Ferry Management to keep this team concentrating on what was required.

Gerald O'Sullivan was given the nod to move closer to midfield to change the formation of the team, creating space for Conor Flavin and more freedom for himself.

This worked a dream when Conor Flavin scored the third for Ferry. Now relief could be seen on the faces of the supporters as promotion was a long time coming.

Ger O'Sullivan had the last hurrah when he slotted home the fourth for Ferry. The celebrations had started.
